Company Background
Vision Biotech specialises in the development
and manufacture of point-of-care rapid test assays. Its core
business includes producing high quality assays that are
stable and durable enough for the difficult conditions found
in remote laboratories, clinics and distributed testing stations
found in Africa and specifically sub-Saharan Africa – with
a keen focus on infectious diseases.
The Leatt-Brace™ Group was established
in 2005 after four years of research into the viability of
a neck protection system for helmeted sports. The group comprises
a holdings, research and development, manufacture, marketing
and US-listed parent company; Leatt Corporation Inc. (OTC:
LEAT, PK).
The Leatt-Brace™ is a totally unique
patented product that can be used by anyone wearing a crash
helmet and where there is a risk of neck injury. Until now
there has been no complete solution to neck injury and the
Leatt-Brace™ is set to take the multi-billion rand
international helmet market by storm. There are two Leatt-Brace™ models
available, namely the MOTO R for car and
kart use and the MOTO GPX for motorcycle
and other use.
Role of Intern
At Vision Biotech he is currently a productions scientist
doing gold and conjugate production. He is involved in quality
assurance as well as Research and Development. Imran was
working as a research assistant to Dr. Chris Leatt, from
Leatt Brace, doing internet research and literature reviews,
