FAQ : Course Structure

What is the actual programme content?

There are 3 levels of intervention:

TECHNICAL: content via an accredited combination Masters level Management Advancement Program [MAP] from WITS business school,

LIFE-SKILLS: content is delivered in the form of 12 workshops of 1 day duration.

TECHNICAL CASE REPORT or a BUSINESS PLAN: relevant to the business of the host organisation, must be prepared by each intern at the conclusion of the HELLFIRE Programme, and must be submitted to the host organisation.

Where feasible, non-Hellfire programme participants (e.g. internal mentors from host organizations) may access any workshop or course, on a fee-for-service basis.

Is there a process and management plan in place for the development of the Business Plan and/or Case Report?

Yes. Prof. Eric Wood of the UCT Graduate School of Business will manage the development of case reports and business plans, including the quarterly presentations by interns. Acorn Technologies has a formal relationship with the UCT Graduate School of Business and in particular the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Does the Intern have to pay to attend the content?

No.  The intern and the host do not have to pay for the first Intern to access and attend the content.
