Acorn Technologies and the Godisa Trust (now SEDA Technology
Programme) launched the Hellfire Internship Programme as
a capacity building initiative, with the aim of developing
a pool of young PDI talent with hybrid skills (i.e. qualifications
and experience in both science and business). The
mechanics of the programme sees the participants being
employed as interns within local life science firms for
one year period, during which time they are enrolled on
a business training course (WITS) and a life skills program
(Learn to Lead).
The Hellfire programme was piloted in July 2005 with
13 Interns.
What are the outputs of Hellfire?
A
Diploma/Certificate issued by Wits Business School, for
its Management Advanced Programme (MAP).
A
case report or business plan submitted by each Intern,
on a commercial opportunity relevant to the Intern’s
host organisation.
Who is sponsoring Hellfire?
The Internship Programme is presently being sponsored
by Acorn Technologies and the Godisa Trust (now the SEDA
Technology Programme).
